Another month gone and more albums to listen to, there in no particular order (apart from the first) lets get started!
First album I heard of the month was by Låpsley ‘Long Way Home’ it’s her debut album on XL Recordings after signing to the label in late 2014. It had previous releases ‘Station’ ‘Painter’ and ‘Falling Short’ on the album and more new material, the album is full of amazing song writing and production with it going colder and slower to more upbeat throughout.
Key Tracks: ‘Operator’ ‘Tell Me The Truth’ ‘Sliverlake’
Another album i’ve really been liking this month was Sei A’s third album and debut on AUS, its an electronic dreamy soundscape with Will Samson guesting vocals on a few tracks. It’s a really nice album!
Key Tracks: ‘Space In Your Mind”Kalstar’ ‘Trails Of Gold’
Baauer also released his debut in March via LuckyMe its loads of hard hitting trap and almost garage music. The album its self is quite short only clocking in at 34minutes, but thats plenty of time. Its also spilt into two parts with the first part being all Baauer then part two adding loads of features from the likes of MIA, Novelist, Pusha T and more.
Key Tracks: ‘Go!Go!’ ‘Body’ ‘Temple”Kung Fu’
Kano also released a new album last month on Parlophone, and with Grime’s re-rise and Americanisation it only seemed right that one of the original’s came back. It’s classic Kano real lyrics and tight production, featuring some Grime’s best like Wiley and Giggs.
Key Tracks: ‘3 Wheels-Up’ ‘Deep Blues’ ‘Endz’
March also saw the return of Iggy Pop with his ‘Post Pop Depression’ featuring a killer lineup of himself, Joshua Homme of QOTSA, Matt Helders of Arctic Monkeys and Dean Fertita of QOTSA and The Dead Weather.
Key Tracks ‘Break Into Your Heart’ ‘ Paraguay’
